A Family At Last.....

Hello everyone! Since Ben returned from Iraq in September of 2006, life has changed dramatically for us. So to get this blog started, I am going to do a quick update.

Ben came home from deployment mid-september 2006. Two weeks later our bags were packed and we were on the move after putting a dear family member to rest. Our oldest "child" Toby. The military moved us and our other 2 "children," Moose and Zeus, to Fort Irwin California. When we first moved, we lived off-post in Barstow for 7 1/2 months before finally getting a house on post. We moved in the last part of April 2007 - just in time to start getting ready for our new arrival. I was pregnant and due in december. The wonderful missionaries from our ward were generous enough to help us move.

On December 13th, 2007, at 9 in the mornning, we welcomed a beautiful baby boy. Truxton Owen was 6 pounds and 7 ounces at 22 inches long.....not quite the 9 to 10 pounds we were told to expect. He gave a scare but recovered. He was born with the cord around his neck 4 times. He also struggled with blood sugar issues to the gestational diabetes I struggled with during pregnancy. He was patient while he endured several sugar checks and force feedings to keep his sugars in safe ranges. We returned home 2 days later and prepared to take off to Utah to bless him.

Truxton is now 2 months old and is such a happy little baby. He is such a good little baby. His "brothers," Moose and Zeus, love him and are very protective over him. They love to help take care of him and comfort him when he cries. They like to hang out with him and play with his toys.

And I'll tell you what!! He's going to be a chick magnent!
